Angular Ahead-of-Time (AOT) compilation causes multiple route definitions to be

Having a bit of trouble configuring ahead-of-time compilation for my lazy-loaded Angular app.

The lazy-loaded routes are specified in the app.routes.ts file, which is imported by app.module.ts. Running ngc results in the content of app.routes.ts being merged into app.module.ngfactory.ts. However, this generated file also includes an import of the original app.module.ts, leading to a recursive importing loop.

Upon bundling the AOT app with Webpack, I encounter duplicate route definitions (using angular2-router-loader) with unresolved relative paths due to one instance being inlined at a different directory level. How can I resolve this issue? The automatic import of app.module.ts within

app.module.ngfactory.ts</code by <code>ngc
seems counterintuitive, but I'm unsure how to prevent it.

Answer №1

If anyone happens to come across this question, I was able to resolve the issue by specifying the genDir setting in angular2-router-loader to point to a specific directory within my main genDir location where my application's source files are located.

A clear example of how to use this option can now be found in the documentation with an illustrative guide.
