Creating a Bottom-Up Menu in React Native: A Step-By-Step Guide

Need help figuring out how to create a menu that pops up from the bottom when a button is clicked. Any advice on where to start?

If you have any guidance or insights, they would be highly appreciated.

Answer №1

This solution seems to be the most promising so far, as it is compatible with both Android and iOS devices.

Check out this GitHub repository for more information.

Keep in mind that this solution requires native modules, making it incompatible with Expo.

Another option is to utilize the component from NativeBase: Visit this link to learn more about using actionsheets with NativeBase.

Just a heads up: I have not personally tested react-native-bottom-action-sheet.

Answer №2

If you're looking to incorporate a feature similar to the one demonstrated in this library, there are a couple of ways you can achieve this:

  1. Implement a sliding animation for a View, similar to what's shown in the linked library.

  2. Utilize a Modal component that slides up from the bottom (the default behavior of this component). Make sure to add some top margin to prevent it from sliding all the way to the top of the screen.
