Do Not Activate the Android App with Deeplink in Ionic3

I'm currently using the ionic-plugin-deeplinks to enable deep linking within my app. Here are the steps I followed:

$ ionic cordova plugin add ionic-plugin-deeplinks --variable URL_SCHEME=myapp --variable DEEPLINK_SCHEME=https --variable DEEPLINK_HOST=myapp.com

 npm install --save @ionic-native/deeplinks

In order to integrate this plugin into my app, I added it to my app's module in the app.component.ts file:

platform.ready().then(() => {
      this.statusBar.styleDefault();
      this.deeplinks.routeWithNavController(this.navChild, {
        '/courseDetails/:courseID': CourseDetailsPage,
      }).subscribe((match) => {
        console.log('Successfully routed', match);
      }, (nomatch) => {
        console.log('Unmatched Route', nomatch);
      });
    });

To ensure proper functionality, I also created an assetlinks.json file with the following contents:

[{
  "relation": ["delegate_permission/common.handle_all_urls"],
  "target" : {
      "namespace": "android_app",
      "package_name": "lb.myapp.app",
      "sha256_cert_fingerprints": ["11:11:11:1F:5D:56:11:D0:11:11:A1:91:34:98:11:EF:B2:FC:50:11:73:5E:90:18:84:13:05:C7:78:E1:A4:A5"] }
}]

This assetlinks.json file is hosted at lb.myapp.com/.well-known/assetlinks.json.

Once all the necessary configurations were in place, I built my Android app using the command ionic cordova build android --release. Following this, I generated a private key and signed the unsigned apk. Finally, I performed zipalign and installed the signed apk onto my Android device. However, when I attempted to share a link (https://lb.myapp.com/main/courseDetails/123), the app did not show up as an option to open the link. If anyone has any insights into what might be causing this issue, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Answer №1

While installing the plugin, I came across an error that I need to address:

$ ionic cordova plugin add ionic-plugin-deeplinks --variable URL_SCHEME=myapp --variable DEEPLINK_SCHEME=https --variable DEEPLINK_HOST=<strong>lb.myapp.com</strong>
