Eliminating extra space below the footer using CSS in Wordpress site

After recently updating my website, I am struggling with some of the finer points. It's worth noting that I lack experience in web development, despite working in the software field; I am trying to broaden my knowledge.

In particular, I have noticed on certain smaller pages (such as my About page) there is a white bar below the footer extending across the screen. I would prefer for the footer to automatically adjust and reach the bottom of the screen. Is it possible to achieve this by writing custom CSS?

With the magic of flexbox, creating sticky footers has been made incredibly easy, even for those that do not have a fixed height (which is the case for most responsive designs). Luckily, your page's markup sets you up perfectly for this:

html,body { height:100%; }
body { display: flex; flex-direction: column; }
body>section { flex: 1 0 auto; }

Adjust to a fixed position ;)

.footer-bg {
    Adjust the positioning for the footer.
}

.footer-bg {
    Make the footer stay fixed at the bottom of the page.

Another option would be to utilize position: fixed; and bottom: 0; for your 'footer' section, although this may present challenges when dealing with pages that contain content exceeding the height of your browser window.
