Formatting code within an HTML document

I am attempting to customize a stock widget that I obtained from financialcontent.com. My current approach involves using Bootstrap for styling purposes.

To incorporate the widget into a div, I found it necessary to embed the script directly within the HTML code like so:

    <div class="col-md-3 col-sm-12 well">
        <script src="http://markets.financialcontent.com/stocks?Module=snapshot&Ticker=$COMP+$SPX+$DJI&Output=JS"></script>
    </div>

Unfortunately, adjusting the size of the stock displayed by the script has proven challenging, resulting in it appearing larger than desired within the designated space as seen in this image: https://i.stack.imgur.com/efroV.png.

I am seeking advice on how to modify the size of the script. While enlarging the column size is one option, it may not be ideal given the layout considerations for other elements on the page.

Answer №1

The fixed width is specified as 300px:

document.write('<div class="fcsnapshot" style="width: 300px;">\n');

To change this, you can use a CSS declaration

.fcsnapshot { width: auto !important; }

Please note that adjusting this may impact other styles within the widget and require additional adjustments.
