I am interested in incorporating `connect-history-api-fallback` into my project in Vue.js, but I am unsure about the implementation

After refreshing the page in Vue.js, I encounter an Nginx error. I am currently using 'connect-history-api-fallback', but I'm uncertain about how to implement it in Vue.js. I noticed its usage in app.js with middleware server; how can we use it in a standalone Vue.js app?

Answer №1

There are two ways you can achieve this:

  1. Utilizing just nginx (nginx configuration) (For a complete nginx config, refer to this link)

    location / {
     try_files $uri $uri/ /index.html;
    }

  2. Using an express like server (server.js file with connect-history-api-fallback)

     const express = require('express');
     const history = require('connect-history-api-fallback');const app = express();
     app.use(history());
     app.use(express.static('src'));app.get('/', (req, res) => {
       res.sendFile('src/index.html');
     });app.listen(3000, () => console.log('server started'));

--Make sure to use history mode in your router, refer to vuejs history mode.
