Is there a simple method using jQuery to highlight html-tags in red within a textarea?
I'm clueless about how to achieve this since HTML tags aren't allowed in textarea, correct? :(
Alternatively, can someone provide me with some helpful resources?

It is not possible to attain the necessary level of control over html tags within a standard textarea. In this case, tags are treated as plain text and cannot be highlighted selectively.
I recommend trying out more advanced options such as CODEMIRROR or ACE.
