Is there a way to convert my messages into different languages without relying on the 'translate' directive or pipe?

Currently, my Angular application is set up with ngx-translate for translation purposes. While it is currently monolingual, I am already looking ahead to the possibility of needing to translate it in the future. Everything is functioning perfectly, but I want to ensure that if the 'translate' directive/pipe is not passed, the messages default to the default language.

For example, let's say I have two JSON files:

  1. en.json

    {"greeting": "Hello"}

  2. it.json

    {"greeting": "Ciao"}

In the HTML:

<p> {{greeting | translate}} </p>

I would prefer to simply write:

<p> {{greeting}} </p>

Is this achievable?

Apologies for any mistakes in my English

Answer №1

If you want to retrieve all messages, a service can help.

Here's an illustration:

{{ translator.messages['greetings'] }}

Within your service, implement a mechanism to dynamically adjust the .messages object based on the user's language preference.
