Leveraging ngCordova in a Cordova Application

As I work on implementing ngCordova into my cordova application, I am encountering an issue where I receive the error message "device is undefined" when making the following call:

var app = angular.module('app', ['ngCordova'])...

app.controller('homeController', function ($scope, $cordovaDevice) {
    $scope.pageClass = 'page-home';
    $cordovaDevice.getPlatform(); // console.log or something.
    });

I have verified that everything is set up correctly and the plugin is properly installed. What could possibly be causing this problem?

Answer №1

Make sure to trigger the deviceready event first before utilizing any ngCordova plugins

document.addEventListener("deviceready", function () {
  $cordovaDevice.getPlatform();
}, false);
