Missing Overlay in jQuery UI Dialog

I have integrated the jquery ui dialogue into my asp.net mvc application.
I customized the styles related to ui dialogues by copying and modifying them.
For the overlay, I used the following style:

 .ui-widget-overlay {
     background: #666666 url(images/ui-bg_diagonals-thick_20_666666_40x40.png) 50% 50% repeat;
     opacity: .5;
     filter: Alpha(Opacity=50);
 }

Even though the image is present at that path, the overlay is not visible despite setting dialogue's modal: true. I am utilizing jquery-ui-1.10.0.

Below is my custom CSS:

 /* Include your CSS code here */

In addition to that, on the page, I have these styles:

 /* Include your in-page styles here */

And lastly, the JavaScript code snippet for handling the dialogues:

 // Include your JS code here

If anyone can provide a solution or suggestion regarding this issue, it would be greatly appreciated.

Answer №1

I included the following three classes to my code:

.ui-widget-overlay
    {
        background: #666666 url(images/ui-bg_diagonals-thick_20_666666_40x40.png) 50% 50% repeat;
        opacity: .5;
        filter: Alpha(Opacity=50);
    }

.ui-widget-overlay {
background: url("images/ui-bg_diagonals-thick_20_666666_40x40.png") repeat scroll 50% 50% #666666;
opacity: 0.5;

}

.ui-widget-overlay {
    height: 100%;
    left: 0;
    position: fixed;
    top: 0;
    width: 100%;
}

.ui-front {
    z-index: 100;
}

By setting modal:true, I was able to achieve the desired result. Many thanks to @axrwkr!
