I have created my first ever Vue.JS / Vue2Leaflet app. It runs perfectly fine on codesandbox.io. However, when I download the ZIP file and try to open the index.html file, it appears blank. Is there something specific that needs to be done to make it work, like compiling or installing additional dependencies? I am hoping to upload it onto a server...

Alternatively, is it possible to convert this entire project into a single .html page? Perhaps by using a Single File Component? If so, how challenging would it be to accomplish?

Answer №1

I'm not entirely sure how this project is currently set up, but my recommendation would be to convert it into a default @vue/cli setup.

npm install && npm install -D @vue/cli-service @vue/cli-plugin-babel vue-template-compiler postcss-import postcss-url && npm install core-js

You should edit the .babelrc file so that it only contains:

{
  "presets": ["@vue/cli-plugin-babel/preset"]
}
  • To start, create a new "public" folder and move the index.html file into it.
  • Create a "src" folder and then move both the App.vue and index.js files into it.
  • Rename the index.js file to main.js.
  • In the main.js file, replace
    template: '<App/>', components: { App }
    with render: h => h(App).
  • Delete the "build" and "config" folders.

Edit the package.json file and add the following scripts:

"scripts": {
  "serve": "vue-cli-service serve",
  "build": "vue-cli-service build"
}

After making these changes, you can now run either npm run serve or npm run build.

Lastly, in the App.vue file:

  • Replace :key="office.id" with :key="'office' + office.id".
  • Replace :key="factory.id" with :key="'factory' + factory.id".
  • Replace :key="warehouse.id" with
    :key="'warehouse' + warehouse.id"
    .

This change is necessary because you cannot have the same components (l-marker) within the same parent element using the same keys.
