Phrases are truncated in the initial line of each ion-item within the ion-list

In Ionic 3, I am facing an issue with my ion-list where the first line inside each ion-item is getting cut off. Specifically, the capital 'A' letter is not entirely visible. Can anyone provide assistance with this? Thank you.

Below is my code snippet along with a screenshot for reference:

<ion-list>
 <li *ngFor="let risultato of risultatiFiltered">
  <ion-item text-wrap>
   <h3> Activity: {{risultato.activity}} </h3>
   <h3> Time: {{risultato.time}} </h3>
   <h3> Score: {{risultato.score}} </h3>
  </ion-item>
 </li>
</ion-list>

Answer №1

This issue seems to be affecting all instances of the <ion-item /> elements, not just the first or last one(s). My suggestion would be to start by adjusting the font-size or overflow properties of the <ion-item /> tag.

For instance, you could address the top/bottom "cropping" by utilizing the overflow-y property:

ion-item {
  overflow-y: visible
}

You could also experiment with reducing the font-size; if it's currently set at 16px, consider changing it to:

ion-item {
  font-size: 14px
}

It may require some fine-tuning to find the optimal solution.

UPDATE: Have you checked your use of box-sizing? If not, evaluate the padding as it could impact the size of the <ion-item /> element and cause overflow to be hidden.

If this is the case, removing it with:

ion-item {
  overflow-y: visible
}

Could resolve the issue. Alternatively, completely eliminating the overflow with:

ion-item {
  overflow: visible
}

Best of luck in resolving the problem.
