Present a pop-up notification box with a countdown of 30 seconds prior to the expiration of a session timeout in JSF

Our task is to create a timeout window that appears 30 seconds before the session expires. If the user remains inactive, they will be automatically redirected to the home page. We already have the maximum allowed duration of inactivity defined. I would like to know how to implement this in jsf 2.0.

Answer №1

If you are looking for a solution to monitor user inactivity, Primefaces offers a convenient feature called p:idleMonitor.

In addition to detecting idle state, the IdleMonitor component can also trigger server-side events using ajax. This makes it useful for tasks like invalidating a user session through IdleListeners.

Answer №2

Discover effortless approaches with JavaScript to detect user's idle time and exclusively redirect them through JavaScript without any external dependencies.
