Shift the content downwards within an 'a' snippet located in the sidebar when it reaches the edge of the right border

I'm having an issue with my style.css file. As a beginner in programming, I am trying to position text next to an image attached in the sidebar. However, the text is overflowing past the border.

Here's the HTML code: Please see this first to identify the problem

After running the HTML, here is what is displayed in the output: The text is flowing outside the sidebar

This is the complete code I used in both the CSS and HTML files:

.contentone {
  /* CSS styles */
}
/* More CSS styles */
{% load static %}
<!-- HTML code -->
<html>

<head>
  <!-- Meta tags and other head content -->

  <!-- Link to Bootstrap CSS and custom stylesheet -->
  <link rel="stylesheet" href="#" title="" type="" />

  <!-- Font Awesome JS -->
  <script defer src="#"></script>

</head>

<body>
  <div class="wrapper">
    <!-- Sidebar navigation menu -->

    <!-- Page content with additional elements and blocks -->

  </div>

  <!-- Links to jQuery, Popper.js, and Bootstrap JS scripts -->

  <script type="text/javascript">
    // JavaScript code for toggling the sidebar
  </script>

</body>

</html>

Despite trying various techniques like flex-wrap and display flex, I haven't been able to solve the problem. It seems that I can't manipulate the text within the 'a' snippet effectively. I apologize if my code is messy and difficult to interpret.

If anyone could offer assistance or direct me to a relevant resource, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Answer №1

To properly format your anchor tag, include white-space: normal; in your CSS for .dropdown-toggle.

.dropdown-toggle{
white-space: normal;
}

Answer №2

Currently, the .dropdown-toggle class is set to have white-space: nowrap, causing your links to overflow. Additionally, your sidebar has a max-width property applied. There are two straightforward solutions for this issue. You can either follow @Amarender's suggestion or you can allow the sidebar to expand alongside the content.
