Something is seriously wrong with the datetime in fullcalendar JavaScript

I've been diving into a tutorial for creating a calendar scheduler in asp.net MVC5 from this link.

One issue I'm facing is the datetime being passed and stored as the min value in the database (1/1/0001 12:00:00 AM), almost like it's null because it's empty. I can't figure out how to make sure the datetime isn't set to null.

I've checked various responses on Stack Overflow, but I'm unsure about what changes need to be made to ensure the datetime value is not null.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Here's the javascript code in my index view:

        $(document).ready(function () {
            // JavaScript code goes here
        });

And this is my Controller:

using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Linq;
using System.Web;
using System.Web.Mvc;

namespace MyCalendarApp.Controllers
{
    public class HomeController : Controller
    {
        // Controller methods defined here
    }
}

This is what the Event class looks like:

namespace MyCalendarApp
{
    using System;

    public partial class Event
    {
        // Event properties defined here
    }
}

The date format is not compatible with automated binding in C#.

'DD/MM/YYYY HH:mm A'

It should be modified to

'DD/MM/YYYY HH:mm:ss'
