In the midst of making a webpage, I find myself faced with the peculiar issue of only having a dropdown to select. To make matters worse, when attempting to navigate to the next page in IE11, a pesky message pops up. Curious about the default behavior of this pop up in IE11 (as it doesn't seem to occur in Chrome or Firefox), I am seeking ways to prevent its appearance.
An important question that needs to be addressed is: "What is causing the alert to appear in IE11?".
Is the issue related to navigating from a secure page to an insecure one? Ensure that you are correctly calling the secure booking API or allowing the browser to determine the protocol by not explicitly stating it:

By using this method, the URL will adapt to the security settings of the current browsing environment.
To simply remove the pop-up alert, assuming it is triggered by an alert box, you can override the alert function:
window.alert = function() { return true; }
It appears that the issue is stemming from the return value of onbeforeunload. It seems that instead of returning null, you should simply return nothing.
