The elastic image slideshow maintains the original size of the images and does not resize them

When utilizing the elastic image slider, I encounter a similar issue as described at Elastic Image Slideshow Not Resizing Properly.

In the downloaded example, resizing the window works correctly. However, when trying to integrate the plugin with Twitter Bootstrap, only the image's width is resized.

While using Bootstrap and resizing the window, the JavaScript console shows the following message:

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'apply' of undefined

This error points to line 32 in the jquery.eislideshow.js file:

line 32: jQuery.event.handle.apply( context, args );

By adding $.noConflict(), the image resizing functions properly. However, the thumbnail control:

  1. disappears in Firefox
  2. appears too small in Chrome

In both cases, changing slides is not possible, and the console displays the error:

Uncaught TypeError: Property '$' of object [object Object] is not a function

Does anyone have a solution for this issue? Is using $.noConflict() not an ideal resolution?

Answer №1

To update your code, substitute jQuery.event.handle.apply( context, args ); with $(this).trigger(event.type, args);
