The metadata for [object Module] does not contain any ngModule information

I recently made changes to my routes by switching them from lazy loaded using a string reference to lazy loading through a call to import.

However, I am facing an issue where every time I try to navigate to one of the pages, I encounter the following error message: No NgModule metadata found for '[object Module]'.

consolelogs.js:49 ERROR Error: Uncaught (in promise): Error: No NgModule metadata found for '[object Module]'.
Error: No NgModule metadata found for '[object Module]'.

    at invokeTask (zone-evergreen.js:1603)

What could be causing this particular problem?

Answer №1

After reviewing my code, it became clear that I had implemented lazy-loading for my routes but forgot to import the module correctly when loading a specific page. The issue stemmed from overlooking the then() method.

{
  path: "references",
  children: [
    {
      path: "",
      loadChildren: () =>
        import(
          "app/applications/requirements/requirements-references/requirements-references.module"
        ).then(m => m.RequirementsReferencesPageModule)
    },
    {
      path: ":referenceId",
      loadChildren: () =>
        import(
          "app/applications/requirements/requirements-references-detail/requirements-references-detail.module"
        )
    }
  ]
}

It turned out that the crucial then part of the import was missing. It's essential to adhere to this pattern:

import("path-to-your-module").then(m => m.NameOfModule)
