Tips for obtaining the most recent HTML element in Angular

I was able to include HTML content in an Angular (7) UI using the DomSanitizer

this.sanitizer.bypassSecurityTrustHtml("htmlstr")

Once the content is sanitized and displayed in the HTML view, users have the ability to modify the values as desired.

However, when attempting to retrieve the updated HTML content with the new value, I encountered difficulty. Instead of receiving the latest content, it always returned the original DOM source.

current output - <div><input type=text value=inp/></div>
Expected output - <div><input type=text value=upd/></div>

If anyone has a solution to this issue, I would greatly appreciate the assistance.

Answer №1

It is unnecessary to update the entire HTML without a specific reason.

The reason for consistently receiving the same value in Angular is due to static values not being updated. You must assign a classVariable to store values.

Consider using interpolation in Angular if you simply need to change a value.

In your HTML file:

Create a class variable in your TypeScript file: valueVariable = "";

Utilize [(ngmodel)] for two-way binding or reactive forms.

Once you retrieve your value, it will be updated accordingly.
