Tips for showcasing a complete background image in a div even if the content inside is minimal

Check out the header image on ink.talentosoft.com if you get a chance.

The height of the header image is precisely 388 px. I am looking to have the background of this div fully displayed. Currently, the setup for the div looks like this:

 background: url(http://ink.talentosoft.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/header.png) no-repeat 100% center;

Since the content within this div is smaller than the background, some parts of the image are being cropped off. How can I extend the full height of this image?

 background-size: 100%; //I tried this but it did not work

Answer №1

If you want to adjust the height of your div, you can simply use height:388px;.

Answer №2

It is recommended to utilize

background-size: auto 388px;
