Tips for utilizing the material ui auto-complete search feature

I am in search of an alternative to material-ui-search-bar because it is no longer being maintained. I have been suggested to try using Material UI's auto complete instead. However, from the examples I've seen, it seems like only text field structures are available where we can type and there's a cross button that appears when typing.

My question is: Can I have a search button or some other element within this auto complete field that allows me to use an event handler? I would like to be able to hit the search button within this field and trigger an event handler once I finish typing.

Sure thing! It's definitely possible. I've implemented an event handler for the first text field you mentioned, using a search button to trigger it. After you finish searching and selecting a film, just click the search button. The event handler will then display the selected film name and index in the console. Hopefully, this explanation clarifies things for you :)
