Troubleshooting V-model errors within VueJS components

Just dipping into VueJS and trying out a chat feature from a tutorial. I noticed the tutorial uses v-model in a component, but when I replicate it, the component doesn't display on the screen and the console throws a "text is not defined" error. Struggling to troubleshoot this issue, any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Below are my HTML and JS snippets.

HTML

<!doctype html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
    <meta charset="UTF-8>
    <title>Chat JS</title>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="node_modules/bootstrap/dist/css/bootstrap.min.css">
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/app.css">
</head>
<body>
<div class="container">
    // Rest of your HTML code here
</body>

</html>

JS

// Your JS code containing Vue components

The issue seems related to the input with id "problem." As mentioned earlier, introducing a V-model triggers the error. Any insights on resolving this hitch would be highly valued!

Answer №1

If you want to create Vue components, make sure to follow these steps:

Vue.component('chat-component', {
    template: `...`,
    data: {
        // your data
    },
    methods: {
        // your methods
    },
    // and so on
});

In the code snippet provided, you've defined javascript objects but not Vue components specifically.
