Turn off javascript on a website that you are embedding into another site

Is it feasible to deactivate JavaScript on a website you are attempting to embed? If the website is working against your embedding efforts, could you effectively neutralize all their JavaScript, even if it requires users to engage with the site without JavaScript?

Answer №1

Unfortunately, there is no direct way to load a website in a frame or iframe without enabling JavaScript within that frame.

One workaround could be to proxy the website and remove the JS code, although this method may not be ideal.

Answer №2

It's highly unlikely for that scenario to occur due to various factors. It is not feasible to toggle JavaScript on or off within a webpage, except by choosing not to utilize it altogether. Additionally, it is impossible to influence the activities taking place in pages sourced from disparate domains.

The concept of "frame busting" serves as a safeguard implemented by websites to shield against potential threats posed by sites resembling the one you mentioned :-)

Answer №3

To effectively remove all script tags from a website and serve the content to users without direct connection, one could implement this process on the server side. However, this might become complex when handling functionalities like cookies.

Client-side execution is not feasible due to browser security measures against cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks. Learn more about XSS here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross-site_scripting
