Updating libxml2 in a XAMPP 1.7.1 installation on a Linux system

Currently running xampp 1.7.1 on my Linux system and looking to update libxml2 to version 2.7.3. Does anyone have advice on how to accomplish this? I assume I will need to recompile PHP, but I am unsure of the steps for installing libxml2 beforehand.

Appreciate any help in advance,

Answer №1

Feel free to download libmxl2 from the official website here if you prefer compiling it on your own.

Your distribution's current version may determine whether manual compilation is necessary or not.

Answer №2

Get ready to upgrade to the latest version of xampp, which comes with the addition of libxml2. Visit for more information.
