Ways to confirm if there have been any updates in Kendo Observable

Hey there! I have a form with specific fields that I've converted to Kendo Observable like this:

var TITLE = $("#TITLE").val().trim();
var DESC = $("#DESC").val().trim();

 Analysis.Kendo_VM = kendo.observable({
     TITLE: TITLE != null ? TITLE : "",
     DESC: DESC != null ? DESC : "",
 });

I'm trying to identify any changes made to this Observable object. However, the hasChanges() and dirty() functions are not working as expected in my case.

var isdatasrc_changed = Analysis.Kendo_VM.hasChanges()

OR

var isdatasrc_changed = Analysis.Kendo_VM.dirty()

The goal is for these functions to return true if changes have been made to the Observable, but instead, I'm receiving an error indicating that hasChanges() and dirty() are undefined.

Answer №1

dirty represents a property within the Kendo UI Model object, while hasChanges is a function associated with the Kendo UI DataSource object. It's important to note that neither of these functionalities are applicable for the Kendo UI ObservableObject.

To monitor changes within observable objects, you can utilize the change event.
