What is the best way to adjust the value of largePageDataBytes in Next.js?

I am looking to modify the largePageDataBytes setting, despite knowing it may impact performance. I made an attempt in next.config.js with the following code:

/**
 * @type {import('next').NextConfig}
 */
const nextConfig = {
  /* config options here */
  //largePageDataBytes: 128 * 1000, // 128KB by default
  largePageDataBytes: 128 * 100000,
};

module.exports = nextConfig;

However, upon doing so, I received the following warning message:

warn - Invalid next.config.js options detected:

Could someone provide guidance on where and how to properly adjust the largePageDataBytes value?

Answer №1

Based on the source code, it is currently placed within the experimental section.

const customConfig = {
  ...
  experimental: {
    largePageDataBytes: 128 * 100000,
  },
  ...
}
