What is the best way to integrate Tawk.to into a React application while using typescript?

Having some issues integrating tawk.to into my website built with React and TypeScript. I have installed their official npm package, but encountered an error message:

import TawkMessengerReact from '@tawk.to/tawk-messenger-react';

Could not find a declaration file for module '@tawk.to/tawk-messenger-react'.
'/Users/DrStrange/Desktop/supportapp/node_modules/@tawk.to/tawk-messenger-
react/dist/tawk-messenger-react.umd.js' implicitly has an 'any' type.

Answer №1

To easily integrate Tawk.to Messenger with React, simply create a file named tawk.d.ts and add the line

declare module '@tawk.to/tawk-messenger-react';
. This method should successfully work for you.
