What is the best way to utilize the handlebars-helpers library within an express.js application?

Currently I am using hbs as my template engine in express.js. The handlebars-helpers library from assemble is something that I find extremely useful.

However, I am unsure about how to integrate this library into my project. I have also been unable to locate any documentation on its usage.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Answer №1

To begin, start by installing it:

$ npm install handlebars-helpers

Then, include the following code in your Express application (preferably before configuring the template engine):

var Handlebars = require('hbs').handlebars;
require('handlebars-helpers').register(Handlebars, {});

This setup will only function if your application directory contains a package.json file (it can be empty with just {}, but it must exist).

Answer №2

The reason for its simplicity is due to its straightforward nature. Simply download the lib folder from this source and include the handsontable.js in your project as needed.

You can find instructions on how to utilize it in the index.js file located within the lib directory.

//Here's an example of how to use it
var handlebars = require('handlebars');
