What is the process for logging out when a different user signs in using Firebase authentication in a React Native application?

I am new to React Native and facing challenges with managing authentication state in my application.

Currently, I am using Redux but have not yet implemented persistence for user login. I have incorporated Firebase authentication.

Essentially, I would like the app to automatically log out a user if they sign in on another device with the same account.

Is there a way to disable activity from the old user account?

Any guidance on steps and requirements needed to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Answer №1

There is no automatic signout for the previous user, but you can validate the authentication token when making API calls from the old user.

When logging in from a new device, generate an authentication token on Firebase and use that token in the header for all API calls moving forward.

This approach ensures secure access to the system.
