Exploring ways to retrieve information stored in localStorage within an android mobile application

I am currently developing an Android App using phonegap. The app is a simple game that generates random numbers for math problems. If the user answers correctly, their score increases, but if they lose, their name and current score are saved in localStorage. However, I am facing an issue where I cannot view the data in android. Can anyone provide assistance with this? Below you can find the code I have been using to view the data in a Browser.

function loadPlayer(){
    const lsOutput = document.getElementById("lsOutput");
    var l;
    if (localStorage.length < 5) {
        l = localStorage.length;
    } else {
        l = 5;
    }

    for (var i = 0; i < l; i++) {
        const key = localStorage.key(i);
        const value = localStorage.getItem(key);
        lsOutput.innerHTML += `${i+1}- ${key}: ${value}<br/>`;
    }
}

Answer №1

One way to access localStorage is by utilizing the object keys and looping through them:

var localStorageKeysList = Object.keys(localStorage);
for (var i = 0, max = localStorageKeysList .length; i < max; i++) {
    alert(localStorage[localStorageKeysList[i]]);
}

This method has been successfully tested on my personal Android device with a Cordova application.

If you encounter any issues, consider using Chrome remote dev tools to manually inspect what may be causing the problem.

Sorry everyone, turns out my old phone couldn't decode the code. Thankfully, I was able to use my friend's phone and it worked perfectly!
