Troubleshooting problem in Vercel with Next.js 13 application - encountering "Module not found" error

Encountering a deployment issue with my Next.js 13 application on Vercel. I recently implemented the Parallel Routes feature of Next in my codebase. While pushing the changes to create a new pull request on GitHub, the branch's deployment on Vercel is successful, but it results in a 500 error. Upon reviewing the Vercel Logs, the following error message was discovered:

Error: Module '/var/task/.next/server/app/@landing/page.js' not found
Require stack:
- /var/task/node_modules/next/dist/server/require.js
- /var/task/node_modules/next/dist/server/next-server.js
- /var/task/___next_launcher.cjs

// more error details...

The required module

/var/task/.next/server/app/@landing/page.js
seems to be missing during the deployment process.

The page.jsx file within the @landing directory has this content:

// Code snippet for LandingPage component

export default LandingPage;

This is how the layout.jsx file looks like:

// Code snippet for RootLayout component

export default function RootLayout({ children, landing }) {
  // Functionality and structure information
}

Include below is the configuration from the next.config.js file:

// Next.js configuration setup

module.exports = nextConfig;

Additional Details:

Next.js version: 13.12.4 Deployment platform: Vercel Repository: GitHub

Tried Solutions:

  1. Redeploying the branch on Vercel.
  2. Ensure successful local build without errors.
  3. Verify correct installation of dependencies.
  4. Confirm smooth functionality of the application locally.

Any insights or suggestions to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your assistance!

Answer №1

It could be possible that the issue arises from using an export default instead of following the recommended documentation.

The recommended way to export is as follows:

export default function Page(){
  return (
  ...
)
}
