What is the best way to utilize namespaces across multiple files in your program

I am currently working with TypeScript 1.6.2 and atom-typescript. In my project, I'm attempting to utilize namespaces across separate files:

// Main.ts
import * as _ from 'lodash'
namespace Test
{
  export var value = true
}

// Another.ts
namespace Another
{
  function Testing()
  {
    return Test.value == true
  }
}

Even after trying to use references, the implementation didn't work as expected. Additionally, I have a valid tsconfig.json file set up to properly resolve the inclusion of definitions and files:

{
"compilerOptions": {
    "noEmit": true
},
"compileOnSave": false,
"filesGlob": [
    "./**/*.ts",
    "./Scripts/typings/**/*.d.ts",
    "!./node_modules/**/*.ts"
],
"files": [
    "./Scripts/typings/tsd.d.ts"
]
}

The use of 'import * as _ from lodash' in your code turns the file into its own module. You can learn more about modules at: https://basarat.gitbooks.io/typescript/content/docs/project/modules.html

When working with modules, avoid using namespaces as they create unnecessary layers of complexity. Variables in each file (including namespaces) are distinct and separate from variables in other files.
